Is Cursillo for Me?

The Impact of Cursillo

By Fr. Marcel Amadi, Parochial Administrator of Our Lady of Consolation Parish in Charlotte and St. Helen Mission in Gastonia.

"My priestly life was greatly enriched and edified as I served in the capacity of Spiritual Advisor at both retreats. The privilege of journeying along the path of faith with Cursillistas especially during the Masses, Reconciliation, Spiritual Direction, and the talks is something I will never forget or take for granted. I was able to testify once again, the importance of giving life to the essential Christian truths in the singularity, originality, and creativity of each and every Cursillista. I am very convinced that the witnessing of every man and woman present at both retreats will go a long way to become huge blessings for the future of our particular and universal Church and invariably the society at large! It was indeed an honor for me to be invited to both retreats. DE COLORES!!!"

Cursillo: An Invitation to Live Intentionally

By Fr. John Putnam published in Catholic News Herald, April 2025

"One of the first things I was asked to do as a new priest was to “make” a Cursillo weekend; to participate in the three-day retreat. I was a bit hesitant, but my pastor encouraged me, and so I agreed. It was a phenomenal weekend, and in retrospect, it very much helped me become the priest I am today. I went on to serve as the diocesan spiritual advisor and served as the spiritual advisor for many weekends over the years."

“Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter; whoever finds one finds a treasure."
